A newly renovated family owned and operated boutique motel.


The Chalet Inn is a newly renovated family owned and operated boutique motel with 40 year old bones. Modern furnishings meet minimalist design to create a space that is friendly, casual and comfortable. Eva, the owner, whose background in fine art photography and her love for skiing and mountains is present all around the motel, a constant work in progress.


The Chalet is the perfect basecamp for exploring Glacier National Park, only 20 minute drive, The Whitefish Mountain Resort, only 15 minutes away or downtown Whitefish, just one mile away and filled with conveniences like fridges, microwaves, laundry area, big ice machine to fill coolers, coolers to rent, outdoor seating in front all the rooms, fire pits, free parking, in room Wi-Fi and coffee makers.


Fishing for trout and salmon, skiing fresh powder, hiking among glaciers, encountering mountain goats, eagles, elk and bear...just unpack, because adventures are waiting!


A Landmark in Whitefish

The Chalet Inn is one of the original hotels built in the 1980’s and becoming quite a landmark in the beautiful and popular town of Whitefish Montana. Stop in and meet Eva, who is not only the new owner, but she comes from the Czech Republic and has been renovating this 33 room treasure into the sweetest ‘Boutique Hotel’ in Flathead County. Having a background in photography, a love for the mountains and skiing, it will be ever apparent in each of the rooms.....but her 'European Flare' will not go unnoticed!


This is the last best place, the only family run hotel in Whitefish, which really makes this your new ‘Go to Destination’.

    Yes, if you arrive prior to 4 PM and your room is not ready, we are happy to store your luggage safely.


    If you need to store your luggage after checking out, you can also leave your bags with us and return them later in the day to collect them.


    Please note we are unable to receive and store any luggage prior to opening hours.

  • IS ON-SITE PARKING AVAILABLE?

    Yes, the hotel has a large parking lot for guests only.

  • HOW DO I GET THERE?

    The Chalet is conveniently located one mile south of the downtown and the Whitefish train station.


    Free SNOW bus runs downtown and to The Whitefish Mountain resort in season, the stop is diagonally across the street from the hotel, at The Super 1 parking lot.

    All payments made with card, debit, or credit, will incur a 1.5% payment processing fee.


    Unfortunately, payments for all non-refundable rate plans are taken at the time of booking and therefore are unable to be processed in cash unless guest is present at time of booking.

  • WHAT IS THE CANCELLATION POLICY?

    Flexi/ Refundable and Membership Standard Room Rates


    Full payment will be taken at the time of booking.

    Cancellation is free of charge for guests until 2pm mountain time, 48 hours prior to check-in. A full refund or house credit is made available to cancellations outside of this time.

    For cancellations inside 48 hours of check in, guests will incur a cancellation fee of equivalent value to the first nights stay. The remaining balance is made available for refund or house credit.

    Any booking modifications, including date changes and/or a full cancellation of your booking made after 2pm on the day of arrival will be charged the nightly rate.

    Any booking modifications requested after check-in are subject to availability and may be applicable to rate variations.

    Payment will be taken upon check-in or prior to your arrival if arriving outside of reception operating hours.



    Non-Refundable Promotions


    Non-Refundable bookings will be charged in full upon booking confirmation.

    Cancellations on Non Refundable rate plans booked directly may be eligible for a guest house credit valid for 6 months be it the cancellation is made up to 48 hours prior to check-in.

    Booking modifications, including date changes are subject to availability and may see applicable fare differences applied.




    No Show Policy


    Failure to arrive at the property on the booked check-in date will be treated as a no-show and the remainder of the booking will be cancelled. If you have booked a rate eligible for a refund, you will incur a charge for those nights which fall within 48 hours of cancellation. If you have booked any of the Non-Refundable Rates you will be charged the full cost of the booking.


    Booking Modifications


    For bookings made on all rate plans, modifications are subject to availability and any applicable charges. If a date change is possible, the originally booked nightly rate may be subject to change and a higher rate may apply.

    The difference between rates may be required in confirming such changes.

    We also encourage all guests to become The Chalet Inn members not only for an exclusively lower price on all standard rate plans but also other great benefits such as complimentary late checkout until 11am!

  • ARE THE ROOMS SERVICED DAILY?

    In light of the most recent COVID19 outbreak, The Chalet Inn has reviewed our daily housekeeping schedule in reducing the frequency in which staff and additional parties may need to enter and exit guest rooms.


    You can rest assured that all communal areas are sanitised daily. They are also on-call to ensure the provision of fresh linen and additional amenities.


    If your stay exceeds 4 nights a full linen change is provided during your time with us.


    Guests who have purchased a ‘Go Green’ promotional rate and opted for no housekeeping will only have a regular rubbish collection included in their housekeep. Additional housekeeping items are available for purchase.


    The Chalet Inn will continue to monitor and review the current circumstance and follow strict advice from Government Health regulations to ensure we continue to provide a seamless service with the safest of practices in mind.

  • IS INTERNET ACCESS PROVIDED?

    Yes, we offer complimentary fast wireless internet for all guests in the house.


    WiFi connection details will be provided in the check-in area, or are found clearly listed in your room.

  • DO YOU HAVE A RESTAURANT/CAFE?

    No, there is no restaurant at the property. However, there are many fabulous eateries in Whitefish within easy walking distance that we can happily recommend.

  • DO YOU HAVE A LIFT / ELEVATOR?

    No. Access to the two floors of the property is staircase only.


    Access to our lower ground level does require a slight step up to our front porch which should be considered by guests with walking aides.

  • ARE BABY COTS AND EXTRA BEDS AVAILABLE?

    Yes, there are baby pac'n'play and twin foldable cots available which our caring housekeeping team will arrange for you and your family.


    Bookings are essential and do incur a $20 charge per night, paid directly at check-in.


    Please contact The Chalet Inn to confirm your requirements before your arrival so we can have it prepared for a smooth and well organised arrival.

  • ARE THERE COOKING FACILITIES?

    At The Chalet Inn every room has a microwave, fridge and a coffee maker.

  • ARE THERE LAUNDRY FACILITIES?

    Yes, The Chalet Inn has both guest laundry facilities as well as laundry/fold service. You will find functional and clean self-service washer and dryer on site.


    Prices as follows:


    $3 Wash

    $1-2 Dry

    $1 Pod detergent

    All operation is by quarters so guests are asked to visit Guest Services during opening hours if they wish to purchase quarters for use.


    Laundry/fold service is available for $15/load.

  • DO YOU HAVE A GYM?

    No, there are no gym facilities at The Chalet Inn.


    The Wave, local state of the art gym/aquatic center is located just a 5 minute walk.


    It should be noted that during COVID19 group and community training centres may be closed.


    Whitefish makes for a gorgeous town to walk and run, with plenty of nearby trails suitable for workouts.

  • ARE PETS ALLOWED?

    Yes, but only to 4 rooms.

    All pet-friendly rooms must be booked directly over the phone with the hotel.

    There is a $40 charge.


  • ARE THERE SMOKING ROOMS AVAILABLE?

    No, our property and rooms are all smoke-free in accordance with Whitefish Legislation.


    We have a strict clean atmosphere policy and our property is under 24 hour surveillance.


    Smoking/ vaping inside the rooms or anywhere outside, except the designated area will incur a fee of $250 charged to guests account.

  • HOW FAR IS IT TO THE TRAIN STATION?

    The Chalet Inn is about 1 mile from The Whitefish Train Station.

  • WHAT RESTAURANTS AND BARS ARE NEARBY?

    There are plenty of local eateries doing extraordinary dishes for eat in or takeaway so we encourage you to  use local Uber Eats or Menu Log Apps for further browsing.

  • IS THERE A GROCERY STORE OR SUPERMARKET NEARBY?

    Yes, our most local supermarket is Super 1, located diagonally across Hwy 93 from The Chalet Inn.


    Super 1 has a great selection of food, as well as beer & wine.


    Safeway is just a few minutes walk toward downtown.


    Third Street market is a small organic store..

  • ARE THERE ANY SHOPPING LOCATIONS NEARBY?

    Yes, there are many shopping locations, The Sportsman Ski House across 93 and many more downtown.

We are committed to ensuring a safe and secure stay for all our guests. Here are the procedures we have introduced at Chalet Inn.


  • All team members have undergone extensive training in health & safety protocols specific to managing COVID -19 restrictions and best operations.


  • Hand sanitizer stations are available throughout the property as well as individual units in each hotel room.


  • All areas of the property are by reservation only, ensuring that we minimize additional guests on-site and enable us to know exactly who is on-site on any given day and time.


  • We have introduced reinforced cleaning procedures for guest rooms, public areas, back-office areas.


  • We have committed to increased frequency of cleaning of public areas (including door handles, switches, and high-touch points).
