Fly Fishing

Glacier National Park
Glacier National Park is a 1,583-sq.-mi. wilderness area in Montana's Rocky Mountains, with glacier-carved peaks and valleys running to the Canadian border. It's crossed by the mountainous Going-to-the-Sun Road. Among more than 700 miles of hiking trails, it has a route to photogenic Hidden Lake. Other activities include backpacking, cycling and camping. Diverse wildlife ranges from mountain goats to grizzly bears.
Skiing
Whitefish is a relatively new major player in Montana skiing, second only to Big Sky as a destination resort. The town of Whitefish is attractive to tourists. Being close to Glacier National Park and having a major ski resort close by make Whitefish a year-round attraction.
Geographically, Whitefish is located where Pacific storms collide with the Continental Divide. This creates remarkably consistent skiing with lots of snow. With snow comes clouds and fog. Yes, weather is a factor here. Fortunately, the ability to ski 360 degrees from the top of the mountain allows for excellent opportunities to match weather conditions.
